School’s out for summer, and you know what that means…more time for non-school stuff like our band! The duo thing has been fun but we’re finding that we really miss having at least a 3rd person to bounce things off of, so we’re officially on the prowl for another band-member. One of my goals for this summer is to get Simple back into gigging mode so it’d be nice to find someone soonish, but either way we’ll hopefully be playing shows by the end of summer, either as a duo or trio. Keep your fingers crossed and point any musicians in our direction!

School has taken over approximately 83% of my waking hours, and with eating, hanging out with friends, and bathroom time, that leaves about–hmm, carry the 1…–4% for Simple. We’re practicing weekly and have 4 new songs somewhat worked out but I’m afraid it’ll be a while until we’re able to play any shows with this lineup or start recording.

The Morning Brew (WHRW)

[Simple's] album ‘the least we can do’ is one of the best I have heard all year, period.

Some stuff has happened. Most notably, Josh the guitar player is no longer playing with us. Add to that the fact that we’ve been without a permanent bass player since before the tour, and you get a two-person band. Hmm, deja vu?

My brother and I (Cameron) have been working on new songs and are toying with the idea of staying a two-person band for a while. We’ll see what happens.

Not many bands make you think of jangle rock, art rock, progressive rock, English folk and 1960s psychedelia in the same song, but Portland’s Simple does just that.

Perfect, gorgeous indiepop that could very easily become the next Death Cab.
